iPhone – Apple Mobile Mail Posted on November 19th, 2012 by

If you have Apple’s iPhone, you should take advantage of the Mail application that allows you to send and receive mail on your phone. This application can hold several e-mail accounts, such as your Gustavus e-mail and a Yahoo-email account, for example. To utilize the Mail application on your iPhone, simply follow this this Apple Mobile Mail wiki.

Once you have set up your accounts, you may adjust several settings. To change your e-mail signature:

1. Open Settings in your iPhone, and then select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

2. Scroll down to the Mail section, and then select Signature.

3. Enter your desired signature in the text field. When you’re finished, click the Mail button to go back to the previous window.

You may also change how often your iPhone “fetches new data.” This simply means you can choose how frequently you want e-mail to be pushed from the server to your iPhone.  To adjust these settings:

1. Open Settings in your iPhone, and then select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

2. Select Fetch New Data.

3. If you have Push turned to on, this means new data (e-mails) will be pushed to your iPhone from the server.

4. Under the Fetch section, you may select: Every 15 minutes, Every 30 minutes, Hourly, or Manually. For better battery life, fetch less frequently.
